HOTEL OK
In 2003, the hotel owners hired us after the foundations and part of the basement walls were executed. Therefore our project was an adaptation with imposed foundations. The owners had a plot of land near Prizren in the direction of Suhareka, on the West side. Their initial request was to build a small hotel and a gas station. Once our engagement with the works started, the whole project was very dynamic and in step with the construction. There was no time for analysis or change, what was drawn today was built immediately. In many cases the construction was directed directly in the workshop without detailed plans. The hotel has a central plan, with rooms on four levels in the four cardinal directions, with extensions on the ground floor and basement for the indoor pool and the kitchen of the restaurant. Thus the first two levels keep the functions open to the general public while the top three levels are for hotel guests only. The project is developed around the idea that various activities could be placed around the empty center. The project has been a long process with many changes with horizontal and vertical growth. The indoor pool has been one of the additions. The Petrol Station was done in the second year of construction. The adjacent shop is interesting because it is a structure of two concrete slabs with columns in the middle. They are covered with glass on wooden profiles, made on site. The structure of the pump is a metal roof held in four concentric columns. A few years after its completion the entire ensemble was modified by the owners, retaining very little of the original architecture.
